Special Events
Each year, in addition to keynotes and workshops, the GCN Conference has
several special events to choose from, including concerts, film screenings,
retreats, and small group gatherings.
Friday Night Entertainment

Friday nights rock at the GCN Conference, and you’ve got tickets to the show. This
year in Houston, Mary Lambert will take the stage, headlining a private concert
exclusively for conference attendees. You definitely won’t want to miss it! Read more

Past events have included concerts by Jennifer Knapp, Ray Boltz, Derek Webb,
Namoli Brennet, Bobby Jo Valentine, Youngest Son, and others, as well as plays,
musicals, and more.

AfterConf

The fun continues even after the last session has finished. Join us Sunday night for
an evening on the town, and enjoy food, refreshments, fellowship, and entertainment
that only Houston can provide. It’s a great opportunity to further develop the incredible
friendships and connections you’ll make while at the GCN Conference. Details are still
being finalized, but if you’re staying in town an extra night, you won’t want to miss out!

Local Service Projects

Each year, we give back to the local community by volunteering at soup kitchens, food
pantries, senior citizen homes, and other places around the community.
If you’re interested in participating in a service project in Houston, you can sign up to
receive more information when you register for the conference.
WeConnect Women’s Retreat

The WeConnect Women’s Retreat offers a unique conference experience to any
female-identified attendee on Thursday afternoon before the conference begins, with
great speakers, awesome worship, and an amazing, all-female praise band. Come
prepared to learn more about how you can grow with God and with your sisters in
Christ. Lunch will be included.
This year’s guest speaker is Emmy Kegler, Founder and Curator of Queer Grace.

First-Timer Sessions

Coming to the GCN Conference for the first time? Join us for a special session
designed just for you. You’ll be able to meet other conference attendees, learn about
the exciting opportunities offered during the conference, and how you can make the
most of your experience in Houston.
Parent Luncheon
Friday, Jan 8 · Lunch
Parents, grandparents, and other family members are invited to a special fellowship
lunch on Friday to meet other parents to hear stories, ask questions, have fun, and
enjoy a meal together. Reserve your spot for $.
Sunday Morning Worship
Sunday, Jan 10 · General Session 4
General Sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday open with contemporary praise
and worship. We’ll use this time to gather in fellowship and show thanks for God’s
amazing grace and mercy. And as part of General Session 4 on Sunday morning, we
will close out our weekend together with a special interdenominational liturgical
service. Sunday’s traditional-style celebration will include singing and a choir,
responsive readings, and more.
